Isn’t it amazing how a little white ball, with 108 red stitches, can create a life full of memories and a passion that burns forever inside you? I can’t remember a day in the past 26 years that the great game of baseball, hasn’t been a part of my life. I have had the pleasure of traveling all over the U.S., sharing in incredible adventures with my family and friends, to play and watch “America’s Pastime.” I am excited to have a great opportunity to turn my passion into a potential career, covering the best sport on the planet. My name is Joe Rawlings and I have the privilege of bringing you extensive prospect coverage on all things Texas Rangers. I will also be covering the MLB Draft with inside looks at the up and coming stars of tomorrow.
Ever since I was 3, I have been either playing or coaching baseball. Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, I had a chance to play the game all year long. Junior Deputy Ballpark was my home away from home, where I got to start my baseball journey hitting dingers off a rubber tee. A baseball fanatic was born the first chance I got to go on the field. My dad and brothers taught me all of the basics of the game, but I was always left wanting more. To this day, I am striving to find the intricacies and tiny details that make this game great. I moved from Arkansas, to Texas, to Wisconsin where I now reside in Milwaukee. I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2016 with a degree in Sports Business and Marketing. My dream is to become a MLB Scout and have an impact on an organization and community. I am a Cubs fanatic and have been since birth. My grandpa worked in the front office for 40 years and my dad shared his passion with my brothers and me.
So enough about me. Let’s get this party started. Follow along on this ride of Texas Rangers Prospects and MLB Draft Superstars. You can antagonize me and let me hear your complaints @joe_RAWsports.
