Angel Pettitt (Yankees)

Hello my name is Angel Pettitt and I would like to introduce myself as the new Yankees writer on Prospects1500. My hope is that I will be able to provide you with some insight into an organization with one of, if not THE most storied history in all of baseball.  Unlike other sports, baseball has a deep rooted tradition in providing incoming players with an opportunity to grow within their organization, experiencing all levels of competition. Here at Prospects1500 I plan to give you some insight into who those players are, and where in their development they happen to be. My goal is to infuse articles with some analysis, some opinion and a little bit of humor (for better or for worse.)
The famous wordsmith, the great Hall of Famer Yogi Berra once said “You can observe a lot just by watching.”  While many joke about the redundancy of Yogi’s sayings I hope to follow that theme by getting in person glimpses of some of the players that the public cares about.  I have access to a few minor league ballparks near my home and will try my best to get there.  I hope to find time to watch some game film and when I can, to provide you with some thoughts and opinions you may not otherwise have time to do on your own.
As far as I am concerned you the reader can be just as involved with this passion project as I am.  If you have any specific requests on background or status of particular players, or any questions for me please feel free to reach out to me at yankeesprospects1500@gmail.com. Please include the phrase “Ok to print” in your email in the event I wish to use your question or comment within one of my articles.  I will try my best to be as responsive as I possibly can.
I am looking forward to this journey and am excited for you all to come along for the ride.

Born in Brooklyn, NY but currently living in enemy territory just west of Boston, I am an avid Yankee fan who has been passionate about baseball my entire life. My Mom stood in line overnight just to get me tickets to the World Series in 1996. A father of 2 young sons, I hope to share my passion for baseball with them in the future, and who knows? Maybe one day they will be featured here on Prospects1500.
