Hello, my name is Brent Maguire. I’m 23 and live in Anaheim, California. I will be covering the Angels on Prospects1500 for the foreseeable future. I grew up in a baseball family and turned my love for baseball into a full-on obsession as I continue to pursue my career of becoming a sports journalist. I’m currently going to school and majoring in journalism while keeping up with my baseball activities on the side. On top of being a new writer at Prospects 1500, I’m also a staff writer at AngelsWin.com and run a podcast with a good friend called “OBP: The Obsessive Baseball Podcast”.
Analyzing baseball statistics and doing data analysis pieces have been my main calling card since I began writing, but I started diving into the prospect world more over the past few years. I covered a half dozen minor league games this year for the Angels Single A affiliate, the Inland Empire 66ers, helping enhance my knowledge of evaluating and scouting prospects. With nearly 4 years of experience in sports writing now, I hope I can add some good content covering the Angels farm system.
Baseball is and has been my biggest passion in my life. I hope my drive for the sport of baseball as well as my experience within the baseball world will help contribute to the Prospects1500 community.
